Our perpetual 3 year old....

Lola, our English Bulldog, who is a perpetual 3 year old who can't talk....came in yesterday after I let her out for her morning potty break, looking like this:

For a white face, it was dirty!
I might have forgotten I let her out and was busy doing something when she ran in like this ha ha!

She was sneezing and going crazy.

The culprit - a backyard hole she furiously dug for at lest 30 minutes

Lola getting in trouble for making Ted come out side to find the hole

Lola loves our backyard, she loves the weather, some days she just lays outside.
But lately she has been smelling things in our yard (cat poop) and occasionally eating it or digging it up....GROSS~!

You Might Be a Mormon If...

You might be a Mormon if….
There is a sign on your front door that asks people to remove their shoes before entering

Ted and I got on a kick tonight at dinner thinking about jokes with the first line
"You might be a Mormon if..."
Here are a few of our brain children, enjoy!

You might be a Mormon if….
You have ever prayed that the dessert would nourish and strengthen your body

You might be a Mormon if….
You were married before you could legally drink
(I wasn’t even 20!)

You might be a Mormon if….
Game night replaces clubbing

You might be a Mormon if….
Your addiction of choice is food
(I have made 4 cakes, 3 loafs of bread, 4 pans of cupcakes, and a pie this month alone)

You might be a Mormon if….
You have ever added vegetables to your jello

You might be a Mormon if….
Your Saturday activities include canning
(I am going to learn how to can pickles next week!)

You might be a Mormon if….
Sunday dinner always comes out of the crock-pot
(It’s my crutch!)

Bridal Shower Cake

I was able to help my little sister, Deedee, with a bridal shower she threw for a friend and decorate the cake for it.  My mom, sister and I had a blast doing it!  It was so much fun!  I think it turned out super cute.

It was a vanilla cake with a creamy raspberry filling and buttercream icing.

Deedee designed it, she is much more creative than me, but at least I was able to execute it.  This was a little stressful since it was not only for family but also for a bridal shower.

Here it is.  Got to love fondant!

Different view

Deedee did such a great job on the shower.  It was pool side at her tennis club.

Some of the bridal shower girls (aren't they are beautiful!?)
The bride is the 4th from right in the white shirt.

The creation:

Dying the fondant and frosting the cake

Me and our mom assembling the cake

Getting ready for the shower and cutting fruit for the salad, the watermelon rolled off the counter!

One of my favorite pictures all day, Deedee and I doing our makeup like the good ol' days

Right before we started the cake there was a family of birds out side and they were lost.
We helped them get into some bushes to hide from the neighborhood cats.  They are still in the same bushes you can hear them chirping.

They were so little.  This is zoomed up we didn't get too close the parents were very upset.

Pink!

Ok LOVE L.A.!  We went with some friends, Sarah and Foti, to Pink, a hot dog stand that is famous here, has been since 1940.
(All the stars have been there, check it out: http://www.pinkshollywood.com/pgz/photos.htm)

Us (well minus me) standing in the 45 minute line, which was so worth it!

Still family owned and operated!

Not the best shot but you should have seen the size of some of those dogs!

Sarah and I choose the same hot dog:
MULLHOLLAND DRIVE DOG - 10" STRETCH dog grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, nacho cheese & bacon

BEST THING EVER!

And yes, I ate the whole thing + some onion rings and french fries!  Go ME!

Ted with his reward for the day.  He woke up knowing that we were going, since he counts calories to a T, he added the hot dog this morning and ate around it all day so he could still have enough calories!

Sweet Nectar of life!

P.S.  If you didn't already know or learn from this post Hot Dogs contend for my favorite of all foods!

The 4th of July!

I wish I had more pictures to share!

The 4th is huge in our little beach town!  Our neighbor told us a few days ago that our street always has a block party where they shut down the street every year.  We thought our street was special....well we guessed wrong.  On our way to church about every other street was shut down for block parties!

Every year the city puts on an incredible firework show!  We heard this and I thought it would be good...it was GREAT!

Some of our friends from our ward, who also helped us move in (Thanks Sarah and Foti!) invited us over to their family BBQ and after we walked down to the fireworks.  This is no ordinary family!  Her Grandma and Grandpa have been here since the 60's and now not only her Grandma, but her parents and lots of other family!  It was a lot of fun!  They were very welcoming to us!  Sarah made a million desserts!  My favorite was her strawberry shortcake, and there was food to boot!  YUMM!

Here is a picture of the crowds.  They light the fireworks off at the baseball field this was one of 4 sides of the field!

Happy Independence Day!!

Our new home!

Ok we have had a lot of requests for pictures of our new home so here are a few of the rooms that are mostly done!

No pictures of our room, study, or laundry room those still need some time....

We are exactly 1 mile from the beach!

(Warning: no pictures hang up yet, the walls look very white!)

707 our new lucky number!

Cute huh?  No 2 houses are the same, ours was built in 1914.  A lot of people have made huge houses out of something like our little one.

Side view with our garage in the background

Our street

Living room with bare walls.
(Yes the carpet is green :)

Other side of the living room with the front door and door to the office (nursery eventually)

Ted's new working place, with Lola always close
(Dinning Room)

Storage space in the dining room full of all my baking supplies, pans, and equipment!

Our Kitchen
Still need some ideas for red accents, there are more vases in the far corner, they are empty though I don't have any ideas do you!?

Fridge and stove

Spent a lot of time organizing the shelfs
These are all the dry ingredients, love being organized!

Lola's new room/patio
View of our backyard, HUGE for the area
